I know there are probably some tutorials out there explaining how to convert a two column theme to a three column theme, but I cannot find any! Would anyone here be willing to give me a tutorial or point me in the direction of where there is one?

I'd suggest you find a 3 column theme.
No, there is no easy way to convert a 2 column design into a 3 column design - it means re-working the whole theme. And especially with Kubrick-clones like your theme (the one on the blog linked to your profile) it would be a difficult taks.
I don't say it is impossible but if you have to ask, it almost is.

I go with moshu. With limited exceptions like moshu's excellent Vesuvius this is pro territory:)
