• Hello, I’ve been a WordPress user for a few years and while I don’t consider myself a guru, I’m pretty good at figuring stuff out on my own but this one is baffling me.

I’m creating a new project, one which has a few authors. I want these authors to be able to create new posts, write them, but instead of being allowed to publish – I want the posts to have to be approved by an admin like myself.

When I set their level to Contributor, they’re unable to see any kind of place to create a new post and only have options to edit their profile from the dashboard.

When I set their level to Author, they’re able to post and publish with no restrictions.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Try looking at some of the role management plugins. They should give you the finer granularity that you need.
