Contributors Publishing Posts

    I have all users set as contributors, but some users are able to publish directly to the site. Most end up as “pending.”

    I’m using WordPress MU 2.9.2. with Buddypress 1.2.3 – I’m wary of upgrading either or both b/c I don’t know if my theme can take it. Would upgrading even fix the problem?

    Additional info – I recently set users to Author so they could publish directly to the site, then too much spam got through. Since I switched back to Contributor, this problem has happened.
