contributors can't login (2 posts)

Hi, I set up a couple of contributors for my blog but they can't login. I'm sending them to http://www.myblog.com/wp-admin and they type in their username and password, but then they get a message saying that they don't have sufficient privileges to access this page.

If they change the url from /index.php (which it automatically goes to) to /edit.php they can get to the posts section and post stuff. Why is my blog sending them to the index url instead of the edit url? Any help with this? obviously it's not ideal to keep having to change the URL in the address bar every time they login, and they shouldn't have to. Thanks

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
