    Hello,

I set up a wordpress.org site with buddypress and began adding all my plugins before I realized that I needed to set up the multisite capability first, since my goal was to create a networked blog. So I disabled buddypress and the other plugins, created the multisite and then activated buddypress and the other plugins again. Now for some reason, all my users appear to be set up as contributors for the multisite, but when they click on the dashboard to contribute, it says that they do not have access to the site. They can log in normally, but not contribute. Is this because I set up the network backwards and I should be starting over, or is this a simple problem to fix? Here’s the error message users get when they click on the dashboard and attempt to contribute a post:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/10/8796010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 1171

Since it mentions Jetpack, I tried disabling the Jetpack plugin for the network, but this did not help.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For the NETWORK or for a particular site?

    Thanks for asking.

They are set up as contributors for the network. This would be fine (I’d like everyone to be able to contribute articles to the main of the network), however, they get the warning whenever they try to contribute.

    Here’s the warning:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/10/8796010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 1171

    Any help is appreciated.

    Delete the folder for Jetpack.

Thanks so much. The error message is removed. However, it doesn’t look like my users can contribute yet. Here’s the new message:

You attempted to access the “Indie Writer’s Network” dashboard, but you do not currently have privileges on this site. If you believe you should be able to access the “Indie Writer’s Network” dashboard, please contact your network administrator.

Thanks again. I really appreciate the help.

It’s got to be a conflicting plugin, which means turn them ALL off and start turning them back on.

By the way, users have to be ADDED to each site on a network and given permissions PER site. So there’s no ‘network’ contributor. It was a trick question.

Ah ha! Ok, thanks so much. I think that must be what it is. I mis-read something in the codex that led me to believe that users could be set up as contributors to the network, which I thought I had done. I have found where I could manually add them; I just thought that there must be an easier way.

Thanks again! Have a great day. 🙂
