    How can I limit contributor rights to only add comments to posts, but not allow them to create their own posts?

    Have a look at some of the role management/scoper plugins.

    Thanks esmi,

    I did install the “Role Scoper” by Kevin Behrens. The possibilities are overwhelming. I have to look closer into it, before I do some changes, not to overwrite or change WP default settings, which are good. The only thing I want is to disallow contributors to add new posts. They should be able to comment on existing posts, because the website is more a news blog, then a discussion group.
