    Hi all,

The "Continue Reading" link keeps repeating. Is there any way I can stop this?

    Here's the link:

    Thanks for any advice!

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Esmi,

I tried all three recommendations to no avail. First, I deactivated all my plugins. Then I switched to a couple different themes. Finally, I reset the plugins folder by FTP.

Thanks for your help. Do you know anything else I can do? It's really annoying me.

That looks like a plugin issue to me. Have you amended any of the files in Twenty Ten or any of the the WordPress core files?

Thanks for replying Esmi. I really appreciate it.

I don't think I amended any of the files, but I did edit the footer. Is there a way I can fix that issue? I have a feeling that's the cause.

Try re-uploading a fresh copy of the Twenty Ten theme.

    No dice, Esmi.

I'm thinking of just deleting the blog, re-installing it and manually uploading the articles again. I only have 11, but it's going to take some time. What do you think?

Try re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Esmi,

I re-uploaded all the files except wp-content and re-uploaded the old wp-content folder to the blog directoy... but it's still brand spanking new. Is there a way I can get my posts to show up like the old days?

Sigh, for anyone with this problem... wish I knew about exporter before I uninstalled.

Why did you replace the wp-content folder? Did you empty the database and re-run the install? Or did you re-install to a fresh database?

I think I screwed the pooch.

I copied my wp-content folder and then uninstalled WordPress. Then I reinstalled it and pasted the "old" wp-content folder and replaced it with the newly installed one.

I'm going to be sitting here for the next hour reposting everything. Maybe there's some hope?

But did you empty your database? If you try to re-install WP into an existing database with populated tables using the same table prefix, it refuses with a warning that it is already installed.

Yup, I got the warning and chose to overwrite the existing database. It's not so bad... I'm already a couple posts in. I just wish I didn't lose all my comments and timestamps for the posts.

Don't suppose you have a recent database backup, do you? Have you asked your hosts if they have a backup?
