Contentville Venice Platform Theme (6 posts)

    Hi everyone!

    Hoping someone out there can help me? I just purchased the Contentville theme platform, and can't figure out where I'm supposed to install the "contentville-venice-wordpress-platform.rar" file?

    The documentation completely skips this first step (and I'm a novice at this)! Although I knew this was the wrong thing to do, but I tried installing the .rar file, as if I was uploading a new theme, but understandably I got error messages.

    I tried contacting the company's support department, but haven't heard back from them at all, and I really need to get this site up & running for an actor that I work for! So, any advice would be more than appreciated. :-)

    I'm with Contentville's support theme... We’re sorry to hear that you had a hard time installing our product, and we apologize for any inconvenience…

    This is our first product and we’re trying to fine tune our system, seems like we haven’t somehow received your inquiry, because we’ve been responding promptly to all inquiries and fixing any issues immediately… To get to the bottom of how this might have occurred, we would appreciate if you let us know under what name and how you contacted us? Through the author page contact form, demo site contact form or live chat, our support site, by phone? We’ll also double check on our end here…

    If you could possibly try again by registering at support.thecontentcity.com, or just by simply sending an email to support at thecontentcity dot com, we’ll make sure we respond asap. We assure you that we do everything to provide ultimate support as you can partly see on our ThemeForest comments pages as well.

    Thanks again for your purchase and we'll be awaiting on our end here to help fix the issues you mentioned.

    Okay, I just re-forwarded you my support ticket by e-mail. Your system provided me a auto-generated receipt confirmation, so you should have gotten it! For reference, the ticket number your system gave me was OHM-369-27243.

    Also, the phone number that is featured on your website doesn't even ring and auto-disconnects.

    If you took the time to cut and paste an auto-response here, why not just provide me the quick answer?

    I just need to know WHERE on my server to FTP-upload the .RAR file?

    Please respond soonest? Thank you!

    Hi Rachel,

    I just responded to your email with the following. Please do not share your site's FTP and admin login info here. I'm just copying it below again for your reference.

    We're really sorry for what you've been going through and we appreciate your patience.

    We are trying to figure out why things haven't worked out for you. You somehow received the automated response this morning, but we can't see your inquiry. We're checking to see if there is anything wrong with our system (btw we use the industry's top-of-the-line system ThemeForest also recommends and uses). Our phone is working, we're talking to people and we're receiving all other comments and inquiries. What country are you trying to call in from? We're in the US and the country code is +1 if you're calling internationally. We work Monday thru Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM Pacific time. And we're doing our best to respond to inquiries even afterhours and we're browsing elsewhere to find out about any missed inquiry as we just did on the wordpress.org forum.

    The reason we haven't told you what to do on the wordpress forum was to get you to contact us and we could do it for you remotely to help you better and speed things up. We didn't want to ask for your site's access information on a public forum.

    As a quick note, could you please upload the "inner" Contentville folder (there are two of them, one inside the other) to wp-content/themes folder when you connect to your host using FTP. And then you should be able to see our theme if you refresh your page in the wordpress admin page>appearance>themes. All you need to do is to click on the activate link underneath.

    We hope this resolves the problem. If not, please send us your host and login info for FTP and access to your wp-admin (username and pass) and we would be happy to do it for you. And we'll make sure that we include this information in our documentation.

    you should not upload .rar file,
    you should upload .zip so the server can extract the file
    if you need my help. amircreations@windowslive.com
