Contents of my plugin appear before contents of the page/post

    I use a shortcode to populate a number of tables generated by my plugin. Tables are built dynamically by querying the database.

    For example, a page I have looks something like this:

    Stats for the current and previous seasons can all be found here. Team captains are responsible for turning in score sheets… etc. etc. etc.

    [tablename = “Main”]

    What I want is for the quoted text to appear at the top of the page, but as it stands WP puts it at the bottom of the page regardless of where the shortcode appears.

    Later on I may want to have something both above and below the plugin generated content. I’m sure this is possible but I can’t find any subject material on my question. what am I missing?
