I have a wordpress installation that is being hosted with webhostgiant. I noticed recently when I make changes to my website and I click 'update' it doesn't update content. today I downloaded a file contact.php and i made some modifications to it but when i uploaded the changes weren't there. is it an issue with wordpress or the hosting company? thanks.
Be sure that you have cleared all caches, both from plugins in your site and your local pc.

thanks for the feedback. I know how to clear cache on my browser but how to do it from plugins?
Are you using any cache-related plugins, like WP Super Cache, or W3 Total Cache? If not, you should not have any cache from plugins.

no, I'm not using any of those. I have never experienced anything like this. that's why I'm wondering 'could be an issue with the web hosting company?'
I'm sorry, but I overlooked part of your original post.
You said you downloaded contact.php, changed it, then uploaded. If you download again, are the changes gone? If so, it is not a cache issue at all.
In that case, you should check with tech support at your hosting service.

what I mean is I downloaded contact.php file made some changes, reupload but I'm still getting the old version. that's the scary part. it's not updating! I've had issues like that for a while. I make changes to content, update, preview, old content. one client just told me there was no phone number on my site. I remember putting it there, then it was gone. how reliable is that?
So, the changes are still there if you download it again, but the site display does not change?
I am out of ideas on that one.
