I’m trying to set up a members only site, and while the registration components of this module are excellent, and I really don’t want to give them up, I’m having strange issues with trying to block access to pages.

I’ve got the plugin set so both pages and posts are blocked by default. However, if you go to a page that should be restricted, you see the restricted message and login form at the bottom of the page, underneath the full page content.

I’ve found that the only way to block pages is to insert the <!–more–> tag, so that everything else underneath is restricted, just like in posts. Isn’t this supposed to happen by default when you select “block pages by default”?

It sounds like you also have the plugin set to display excerpts. If you are using Show Excerpts and you are blocking pages, you muse use a ‘more’ tag on the blocked pages. Otherwise, all of the content will end up being the excerpt.

Alternatively, you could use the plugin’s auto-excerpt setting. This will create an excerpt on-the-fly for content that does not have a ‘more’ tag.
