If you’ve modified the CSS code, the responsive is probably not working as designed.

But before looking at anything else, start by clearing up quite a few mark-up errors on the page — in particular, the ones that have to do with missing or open or extra tags tend to cause layout problems.

Also, you really need to be using a Child Theme — as is you are going to lose all your changes when WP is updated… you really do not want to go there :). It’s also important to have a clean copy of the default theme for various troubleshooting purposes.
