content-inner out of wack

Please help me! I’ve been searching for hours in order to center the content. When I try to move it over with padding, it only goes a maximum of 10 px but moves the header as well. Do I need to disconnect the header from the content? Why is the content stuck over there in the first place? If so, how do I do that? Also, on the blog page, there’s a huge gap between the header and the first post. Why is that happening? Thanks ahead of time.
