Content for sidebars (2 posts)

    Hey Folks,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this topic. I'll move it if need be.

As I'm using w/p for pages more and more now, I would like to be able to have a sidebar where I the sidebar is effectively empty, and i write the content per page. Here's a sort of example on my site

You'll see the bottom part of the sidebars are the same, but the top part is content I write for that page. Now those are both static pages. not w/p pages, but I figure it should be easy enough, if someone can point me in the right direction, to have a customizable sidebar for each page. Really, to allow at least part of the sidebar to be the same as the 'entry' part of the page/post.

I saw a few plugins, but they write complete new php files for each sidebar, which means it's probably easier just to write a new page template for each page.

Has anyone any ideas on how best to achieve the kind of thing I'm trying to do here via wp?

Thanks so much for your help.

    Cheers

    Carl

PS; I'm looking at a few more plugins; what I want is to be able to specifically customize the content of a sidebar for each page, without necessarily building a new sidebar. I could enter the content as I write the content for a page. Hope that makes sense. I'm not looking for widgets etc to grab from and stick into a sidebar.
