Yup that explains it…
While I agree with the concept in general, it is a pain on a large/long page as then one has to scroll up again and again and again to get to the update button and to even to get to the preview button…
I do believe people are going to be pissed at this and most will see it as a bug, especially since the right admin sidebar as well as the left side admin menu both scroll off the screen on a long page…
If the desire is to allow the primary edit window to grow as needed, no problem, but then it should be done correctly and not as just a quick patch that causes so many other issues…
I would recommend that the TOP of the edit window upon scroll/re-sizing be at the permalink line with the preview button, and the ONLY the actual edit box/window infinitely scroll as need as content is added, leaving both the left hand admin menu and the right hand admin sidebar entities alone by not scrolling them.
I would also highly recommend that this feature be user activated or deactivated (enabled or disabled) from a button perhaps up on the level as the permalink and preview items…
Tagging this resolved. Once we have a trac ticket, discussion moves there for sanity of information flow.
Okay, no problem, just hope my comments are useful. While I have been an internet consultant for almost 20 years, and an alpha and beta testor for many products, themes and plugins, none have had the organizational size the WP development has, which of course is dictated by the size of the group and the complexity of the product.
I thank you for answering my questions and as I noted, only hope my comments will be discussed within the group for the betterment of all.
Best Regards,
Ken
