Is this only in gmail? Try changing your email address to one in another mail account, like Live mail…I am having issues with gmail…but not with live email
I tried yahoo mail and same result. I just have no clue what might be wrong.
Test if your WordPress installation is able to send emails.
Try going through the “forgot password” function on wp-login.php.
Do you get the email? If you don’t you will need to rectify this.
The WordPress Codex gives some guidance on this at http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#E-mailed_passwords_are_not_being_received
I was having the very same problem, but only recently. Turns out that the new Dreamhost spam policy was the problem. Since it’s technically “spoofing” the user’s address to send email, Dreamhost no longer allows it.
I fixed the problem by using an email address on the hosting server (i.e. info@mysite.com) in the From field. I then added “Reply-To: [your-name] <[your-email]>” in the Additional Headers field, so that when I reply to an email, it goes to the person who sent it (not info@mysite.com).

@buzztone: thanks for your suggestion. i will see what mowse says per below before trying out that option.
@mowse: thanks for writing it because it seems you had exactly the same problem i am facing now. However, my email is Gmail-managed. Will this work? I have emails on the domain (i.e. contact@mydomain.com) but they are created and managed through Gmail. Thoughts?
@samiyoyo: On one of the threads I posted above, someone recommended the plugin
Configure SMTP. I know that there is a box on there to check for Gmail, so you might be able to use that and enter your Gmail SMTP settings to ensure delivery.
@mowse: thanks again. i contacted dreamhost and they guided me thru it. i basically created a sub-domain and then create my new dreamhost fully hosted email under the subdomain. From here, I followed the steps in the thread at http://savorywatt.com/2012/10/10/fix-contact-form-7-not-working-with-dreamhost/#comment-1227. Thanks again all for your help!
@samiyoyo: So happy you got it working! I’m relieved, too, after spending most of today on this issue. Cheers!
