just down loaded and installed v2.4.4 of contact form 7.
All straight forward enough, got everything working except the textarea
the code is....
<p>Your Message<br />
[textarea your-message] </p>but on the page that my contact form is displayed I see this
Your Message
[textarea your-message]
All other field are shown and working correctly.
This is the case on the default template form as well as any modified form.

removed and reinstalled the plugin with no success. what am I missing?
Have you tried:
- deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I only have one other plugin in use at present. Disable and tested with no improvement.
My site is live using the graphene theme. Will switching to twenty ten theme mess up any settings etc when I switch back to graphene? (sorry if thats a rookie question but I'm a total newbie to wordpress)
