• Is it possible to make a contact form/box without having WordPress downloaded on my computer. In other words, I currently only use wordpress.com online to build/manage my website. Can a contact box work with simple html? If not, how easy is the wordpress program to use and can I easily transfer my pre-existing site onto it?

  • First, you do not need to install WP on your computer.
Second, you do install it in a hosting account.
Once setup, you can use the very popular plugin Contact Form 7.
All can be done without CSS coding or even knowledge of HTML or PHP (although to get a better site I suggest learning them).

Also, some web hosts can and will install WordPress, and move your content for you!

If you’re otherwise happy with WordPress.com, there’s a contact form built in to that service that’s very easy to use: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

However, you’ll have to ask on the forums over there if you need any further information about it 😉

Thank you both for your help. I chose to do it Amy’s way because it was much quicker and easier for my situation. I could not find any wordpress.com forums to post on. I also don’t even know what a hosting account is…
