I had no problems with uploading photos until I installed the WP 2.8.1 update. Now I have to try up to 10 times with each photo which is a real nightmare as I publish an online society page which features tons of pics. In addition, the upload time is wayyyyy too slow. It is taking up to 2 hrs to load each article which is not going to be substainable going forth! Word Press really needs to have a quicker upload time on media to be a program that professional bloggers can utilize.

Have you tried:
- disabling Google Gears if you have that running/installed within your browser.
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.
