Considering a new theme, would like recommendations

I have been using atahualpa which I’ve been pretty happy with but our blog is gaining popularity and I think it might be time for version 2.0.

We definitely want to start offering advertising at some point so a theme that is friendly for managing that type of stuff is a must.

I have been noticing that our blog is kind of drab compared to some others. I have noticed that other blogs in the top tier of popularity are making better use of the real estate on the blog – especially the footer. I also notice that most have larger and more prominent social networking buttons. I would also like to have an “as seen on:” section since we are starting to get some press as well.

Another feature I have seen that I like is the rotating images and featured posts at the top of the page. A few blogs that I like the look of and feel they have a better overall design:

Last but not least I’m looking for a mobile theme plugin. I have seen there are a couple. There one that is specifically for iOS that I’m not real impressed with and if I install something I would like it to work on all mobiles. The standard theme looks ok on an iPhone but I don’t know about other mobiles? Any recommendations here?
