"Connection Lost" continues to freeze up WordPress for hours a day (5 posts)

    It's been happening for about two months now but this error continually comes up whenever I'm working in a WordPress post, even more so in the mornings but also at night: "Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case."

    Per these support boards, many other users seem to have the exact same problem/error in WordPress, but there seems to be no actual solution, fix nor explanation as to why this error has started. I've been using WordPress for years and work in it daily/extensively and it's only a recent development/problem that is not going away with upgrades to latest versions.

    This morning, 12/17/13, for example, the error was showing continuously, freezing me out of my posts for hours (sometimes it's minutes at a time, other times hours). When I tried refreshing the screen as it was stuck for so long, it messed up all my text, changing the post I'd already mostly written to one continuous sentence requiring me to reformat the entire post - this it has also frequently done in the last two months since this error began showing up. I'm unable to get work done at least half the time I am trying to use WordPress due to this continual error.

    I've tried using WordPress on Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer many times - it doesn't matter what browser I use, the error is always the same on WordPress only.

    This sounds like a server issue. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    Yes, I have contacted them, and that's not the problem. I am having no issues with any other site or program. This issue began with WordPress only about 8 weeks ago and continues even with recent upgrades.

    They checked my server connection and all is good on their end, they say. Email through them working fine as well.
