    Hello.

I'm trying to redirect a main domain to a main domain with a sub-folder.

    e.g

    redirect 301 .co.uk/ to .co.uk/wordpress/

But the pages on the old domain I want redirecting too.

    e.g.

    redirect 301 /drums.html http://***.co.uk/wordpress/plastic-drums/

I've got redirects enabled in the .htaccess file but I'm just confused as to what is the best method as I don't want to be penalised for any bad links. I've seen so many slight variations, can't see the wood for the trees anymore today so I'm calling for help before I scratch out my eyeballs in frustration.

Here is how BlueHost handles that, and someone here in these forums recently commented that something similar should work just about anywhere:
    https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/347#redirect

note: You should be able to ignore the "When using WordPress" part at the bottom of that article.
