    I just opened up a blog here, http://thatgayconservative.wordpress.com/

    I’m having trouble understanding if I need a host or not. Also, I downloaded WordPress 2.0, but I’m not entirely sure that I need it. I was running a blog for a while on Blogger, but this seems to be an entirely different animal. I can’t figure out how to change the time zone.

    Please bear in mind that explanations have to be kept simple.

    The wordpress.com blog stays where it is – it cannot be hosted elsewhere.

    If you have downloaded WP as well, you’ll need a host for that to be used on.

    The wordpress.com blog’s timezone can be altered on the Options screen – use the “Times should differ by” to get it right.
