[resolved] conflict with Gravity Forms (8 posts)

    Hi there,

    I have found a conflict between these two plugins:

    NGFB Open Graph+ - Version 6.12.1 | By Jean-Sebastien Morisset
    Gravity Forms - Version 1.7.11 | By rocketgenius

    I have disabled NGFB Open Graph for now, so I don't think sending you my URL would be of much use. (Though I'd be happy to send it to you by email, give you access to the Admin of my WP site if you are interested.)

    I also contacted Gravity Forms.

    ~Regards

    Have a look at "Debugging and Problem Solving" in the Notes http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-facebook/other_notes/.

    And if you would like me to give you a hand, you'd have to describe the problem, and include the following in your post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/please-read-before-posting-about-an-issue?replies=1.

    Thanks,

    js.

    Hi JS,

    Sorry, the problem was that with both of those plugins enabled my entire site crashed and all that showed up was a white screen.

    I know you give great service-unbelievable, really, on a free plugin. I don't expect you can help me based on the data I have provided.

    I just thought you would want to know, as you wrote this on your debug page:...

    NGFB Open Graph+ follows the latest recommended WordPress coding practices, but on occasion, it may break other themes and/or plugins that do not.
    ...and Gravity Forms is also made by top professionals, so I just found it odd there would be a conflict.

    The Gravity Forms fellow told me:

    If it crashes the entire site then it sounds like you don't have enough php memory, the recommended minimum these days is 128M but 256M is better

    So I thought I would check into that before I bothered you any more.

    Best Regards.

    I'm always interested in any issue customers bring up -- I see it as a way to improve the plugin and/or documentation. I don't make the distinction between paying and non-paying customers -- we're all looking to make this plugin better, and those that choose the Pro version get a little more flexibility in features. ;-)

    After you make the memory changes (which is a good suggestion), you should add the following to your wp-config.php file:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    if ( defined('WP_DEBUG') && WP_DEBUG == true ) {
        define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
        define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
        @ini_set('display_errors',0);
    }

    Any errors generated will then be logged in the wp-content/debug.log file.

    Let me know how things go. ;-)

    No, haven't been able to work on it. Probably won't for a little while, so if you want to mark this 'resolved' I could come back to you later if I get any valuable info.

    Thanks!
