   I want to install 2.8.2 on my server but I do not know how to do this:

   2. Create a database for WordPress on your web server, as well as a MySQL user who has all privileges for accessing and modifying it.
   3. Rename the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php.
   4. Open wp-config.php in your favorite text editor and fill in your database details as explained in Editing wp-config.php to generate and use your secret key password.

   how do I do these things. I am not a programmer

   gmspi - Are you using hosting with Cpanel? If so, there's a good chance you don't need to do any of this. If you're host has Cpanel, look under Fantastico or Simple Scripts and chances are that there will be a wizard for easy set up of WordPress. If not drop me a note through dewpointproductions.com and I'll walk you through the above steps.
