  • Hi blogjunkie,

    1. Not necessarily. Obviously the more a plugin is running or takes to load, the more resources on the server it’s going to use. But it’s not a 1 to 1 type ratio.

    2. Research the many ways to optimize and improve WordPress performance: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Optimization/WordPress_Performance – aside form that we are constantly working to improve performance with the plugin and I know we’ve made some huge strides with this in our upcoming 3.0 release. With that we are not working on these kinds of things anymore for the 2.x releases. For now, there’s nothing else you can do aside from working to improve performance on your own until 3.0 comes out which should be in the next couple months.

    I hope that helps!

Thanks Jonah, appreciate you taking the time to respond. Guess that alleviates my concern a bit.

Sure thing blogjunkie. If there’s anything else I can help answer, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

This thread is a little older, but seems still relevant to speeding up The Events Calendar. Try it out and let us know if it helps speed things up for you:

Thanks for helping out there webdevmattcrom, generally speaking it’s best not to post in very old threads created by others, though. If we can help with anything else, please do go ahead and create a new thread.
