Complete Noob: Need Help With Custom Theme (2 posts)

    I'm starting a website in the next few months with some friends and I basically need a CMS, and WordPress seems the best option for us all to be able to uplaod to the site, and make sure everything gets 'filed' where it needs to.

    We have a template for our site:

    Basically, on the front page we need our custom header, custom navbar, space for us to have our own html, then a wordpress section below. We need this on all the rest of the pages too, aside for the flash/avatars etc.

    How would we best go about making a theme for this, and is there any way at all that we can get our html and put tags in there to 'tell' WordPress where to put its features?

    Hopefully I'm not asking for too much, I know Worpdress is very customizable, but I just cant get my head around it.

    You indeed have to insert in your HTML templates, the appropriate code to make WordPress insert the dynamic content at the right place.
