I have a compatibility issue with the multilingual plugin, WPML.

Even if I have multiple authors or switch the default author with a guest author, the new author setting disappears when I translate a post.

It is annoying as I have to do the author setting twice.

Can anyone help me on this or make the plugin compatible with WPML?

    Hi there,

I believe WPML creates a new entry in the database when you create a translation. In your case, because Co-Authors Plus actually stores the byline information as taxonomy terms, you’ll need to duplicate the author terms as well when you create a translation.

This functionality is something that could be added to WPML, or written as a standalone plugin.

Feel free to point WPML to this thread if there are more questions.

    Hi there,

Just tried to translate a guest author with WPML. Actually it is only the “Biographical Info” that should be translated as all the other data are the same in all languages.

It is not posible to translate only that field (or i miss something), so when i try to translate all the data, i get an error message:
“Display name conflicts with another guest author display name.”

Any idea how to translate only “Biographical Info”?
