    So I’m looking at plug ins and I see they all have a compatibility requirement for example Requires: 3.0 what is this referring to and were do I find the spec.

    Refers to which version of WP. Look at the WP file you downloaded or installed, or look at the download button on the home page of this site — most current is 3.3.1
