[resolved] Comments that don't exist (2 posts)

    I am set up to not have comments. But periodically I get a message like this:

    A new comment on the post #16 "WISE ADVICE" is waiting for your approval

    Why does this happen? Is it just because someone *tried* to post a comment? How could they try when there is no comment link? Did they try via email? It's only happened about three times, but the third time was enough to make me curious about why it's happening.

    How to avoid? Install and activate Akismet or Spam Karma 2. Either one of those, coupled with the Bad Behavior plugin, and you won't see any more of that stuff. :-)
