I have turned off the option to comments under Settings > Discussion.
I have also gone into the post/article and tagged the box to “off”.
So noone can post/leave a comment to anything, but …
But the [Leave a comment] link are still there and when you click on it “Comments are closed.” are to.
How/Can these be removed to so every trace of a comment system is gone?
possibly single.php, page.php, and more; look for wordpress functions which contain the word ‘comment’ such as ‘comments_template()’ or ‘comment_popup_link()’, etc.
details depend on the theme.
