• I just got two comments to my blog that will not show up under their respective posts. Even stranger: they show up in the main page of my control panel, in the “last comments” section; but they do not show up if I go to the main comments section. However, looking directly in the database they are certainly there, and showing a ‘1’ for approved. The only thing I can think of is that the comments are very short – both are just two words – so I thought maybe that could trigger some kind of filter, but I tried to write the same comments myself (exact same wording) and they showed up fine. I haven’t had any problems like this before, and comments appear to be working fine on my other posts and pages.

    Any ideas?

  • Maybe you can try fresh install ( no plugins active)
or maybe you haven’t approve it?

In the past, i have same problem for my blog,
but after I deactivated one-by-one plugin, i find that one of the plugin make the WP comment didn’t work.

thanks for responding, but the problem is I haven’t been able to reproduce the error yet – and I don’t want to be messing around with the plugins etc on my live blog (it has multiple users and some important activity going on). Comments seem to be working fine except for these two particular ones. And yes they are marked as approved in the database. It’s kind of mysterious to me.

    Would appreciate any advice!

…eh, sorry. I realized that I had actually just installed one plugin – WPML – and yes, deactivating that solved the problem. Guess the commenter had switched to another language than the default, and then left the comment, or something like that.
