I'm having an issue with my comments being invisible in my dashboard, let me explain how I got where I did and hopefully someone can help!
I recently moved my site from a single hosting account to a virtual private server. After the move, things seemed to work for a moment, but then it all went blank. After consulting with my host, we figured out there must have been a problem with the WordPress installation, so I deleted everything and installed the latest version, 2.5.1. (Original version was 2.0 or 2.2 or something) Whenever I tried to upgrade the new wordpress installation with the old database, it would just go blank and not work. So instead, I made a new, empty database and hit the install.php page to install it fresh so I could figure out how to transfer my files later.
This page gave me a solution to my database issues:
Following the directions on that page, I deleted each of the empty tables from my new database and inserted the individually-exported old tables from my old database. (Except the wp_options table - I figured thought this one would screw up the new [upgraded] installation somehow.) For the last couple weeks, my blog has been functioning perfectly, except for one bug.
I noticed it when a couple comments were held for moderation. The number 2 lit up above the comments tab in the dashboard, however, when I clicked on this no comments were visible. Telling it to run the spam filter, the comments moved over to my akismet spam tab, and I moderated them. I soon noticed that NONE of my comments were visible in my dashboard in the comments tab. I didn't notice this right away because recent comments were visible in the main dashboard page, and the spam queue was working fine. WordPress knows they are there, because whenever I do a search for keywords within the comments, it finds them. So it just doesn't display them in the "All Comments" "Moderation" and "Approved Comments" tabs.
Anyone have any advice for me on this?
