[resolved] Comments form not showing up (8 posts)

My comments form is not showing up in Chrome (except for the "Comments" textarea), but the "name", "email", "url", and "comments" input fields all show up in Firefox. Maybe there's something wrong with my theme files.

The plugins aren't the cause, and I already double-checked the "Discussions" area to make sure the options were normal in the admin area.

Also, the comments themselves don't show up in either browser when you click on an individual post.

I used the Twenty Ten theme and then made a custom template out of that, so there may be some issues there. I tried to change the theme name wherever possible. Are there are other areas I should be doing this somewhere else in my folders? Like the includes?

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.

-switching to the default theme ("twentyten") for a moment by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. Right before you posted, I reversed some changes and managed to get the comments showing up again.

So now the problem is that the "name", "email", and "URL" fields show up in Firefox but not in Chrome. Weird...

Ooooh, wait. I'm probably logged into one of the browsers because I'm working with WordPress in Chrome, but not Firefox. So I'm not logged into the back-end in FF. Whereas in Chrome, it doesn't need my name and email because I'm the admin.

    What a dumb oversight.

    Thanks for trying!

It works fine in FF and IE8.

I don't have chrome to test your comments form. Try clearing cache in chrome and test again. To clear cache in your browser, press clrl+f5 keys simultaneously.

If the issue persists, try sorting out markup errors and see if that resolve the issue.
