[closed] Comments form disappeared in all my posts (4 posts)

Problem: All my comment forms area on posts are missing and only show on Pages, but not posts. I have triple-checked all settings that allow comments to show, and all are set properly to 'show comments', etc.

Firstly let me say that I am not a coder at any level, but i can search for and change code in CSS when directed. I have not altered an PHP files yet.

I use the latest WordPress, and the Mantra theme, current version 1.7.2.
( for reference and source code, my blog is at: http://www.davidjulian.com/blog )
I tried switching to the Twenty-Ten theme and others, but had no improvement.. so I wondered if it is a plugin. I disabled ALL plugins, but no improvements.
I then wondered if the writable permissions on a WP file may have been altered by a plugin, but that's a stretch.

Mine is a new blog, and has not yet been launched. I can't launch it until people can post comments, so this is really vexing me.

My web host says that the server settings are set up properly for comments to be executable, whatever that means.

Can anyone point out what i can check or alter to allow my comments areas to show and be functions properly? I wish I could find the bad code, missing code or improper 'call' in a file. :-(

    Any help is deeply appreciated.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thanks esmi,

I had tried deactivating all plugins, and also deleting them entirely and re-installing them (after saving them as an offline archive).
Reason I didn't try that once again is that some of them had settings that seemed to reset to default once re-installed and re-activated. Major time swallower, but worth a second try if all else fails.

I was just about to archive offline and try a re-install of fresh WP files, but last time i did that, my whole blog went down. I;m afraid that i may not know how to re-install the whole set without losing all the settings data that linked my blog to the internet.
(great on a Mac, but sheepishly inexperienced in all things on a server.)

At this point, I'm willing to pay anyone who can fix this for me. Really.

Based on feedback from another forum, I checked my 'single.php" file for Mantra.
It was recommend (at link below) to see if a certain string of code appeared below another string:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/comments-not-showing-up-in-posts-1?replies=15

I did not find the recommended call "<?php comments_template(); ?>" in my "single.php" file that the forum recommended. So, I am pasting in the entire code block from my "single.php" file from Mantra theme in case anything in it looks obviously wrong to anyone reading this. I feel lost as this is causing me to become so behind in my blog's direct marketing launch deadline.

Do you have any further advice? Can i hire you to fix this issue by having access to my FTP server?
