I encountered a strangeness when playing around with the pages in 1.5 - I can't get comments to work - no matter what the settings are in my admin panel, they show up as closed on the page itself.
For example: http://www.bleuunicorn.net/graphics/award-winners/
(If possible...could that link be removed if/when this gets resolved...?)

This happens for me too, or rather something similar.
When creating a page for the first time, if I change the default comments/pings settings, those changes are not saved. However, if I go back and edit the page and again set the settings the way I want them, they are saved this second time.
I believe this issue is the same as that addressed in this bug report
ceo: Can you change the settings if you go back and edit the page, or is your situation different?

No, my settings are saved when I post - just no matter what the settings are, the comment form won't appear on the page.
