a) Have you checked the commenting permissions ( https://codex.wordpress.org/images/5/55/options-discussion1.png ) in the general settings of your dashboard to confirm that those are all where you want theme?
b) Is the Disqus commenting plugin allowing any of those settings to be overridden?
Thanks! Hmm, not able to locate comment permissions. Did look at history of comment and it said that “Akismet” approved it. As Akismet is the name of the anti-spam module, that doesn’t seem to make much sense.
not able to locate comment permissions.
As the screenshot suggests, the default discussion/comments settings are at Dashboard > Settings > Discussion They can also be set on a per-post basis in the post editor.
Also check the settings in the Disqus commenting system plugin that appears to be in use.
A-HA! That was the problem. Many thanks!
$#^@!!rasm-frasm! The problem is re-occurring. Comment recently appeared without having been authorized. Any ideas?
Guess I have to post again. This must be too far down the list.

I administer the WordPress blog within the 1and1 site http://otherjones.com. Comments are posting on the site without having been authorized. Why might this be hapening and how do we stop it?
