   I am having an issue with people writing comments and they are appearing before someone approves them. How do I hide comments entirely until an administrator approves?

   Login to wordpress and select: Settings >> Discussion

   Put a check in: "An administrator must always approve the comment"

   Hope that helps.

   Thanks but I did that and the comment still appears beneath the post but has a note that says "Approval Pending" it is very strange because it shows what the person wrote for a comment - Not quite sure what the purpose would be of an approval if everyone can read it anyway???

   Any other suggestions?

   And who else sees it besides the
   a) comment author
   b) the admin
   ?

   Is there anybody else seeing it?

   Ok, so you'll have to forgive me - I didn't realize that the author of comments was able to see them even before they were approved....my apologies.
   It seems to be working as it should.
