  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

    Hi,
I tried that, and did not resolve the problem.

I have tried updating my blog version, but it won’t update, it just tells me it has “failed.”
    ?

OMG I JUST DELETED MY BLOG. I clicked on the wrong file

Don’t panic. Your site’s content is still safe in your database. Do you know what file you deleted or clicked on?

    Gosh no.

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

Well, I guess I don’t have to worry about readers not be able to leave comments anymore. 🙂

Since no one will help me recover my blog. Is there an EASY, DUMBED DOWN way to transfer the content from my old blog to a new one?
I read everything online and don’t understand a word of it.

Update. My blog as been “found.” But I still have that comment problem. Also for some reason I can’t update to the latest version of WP.

They won’t help me with anything. They have changed the way they do business now.

There really isn’t an awful lot we can do unless we have some idea of what you actually did. What kind of web host refuses to help a paying customer?

My thoughts Exactly. Blog questions are not important to them. I’m not sure what you mean by what I did.

You said that you “clicked on the wrong file”. There are thousands of files in WordPress. So right now, it’s like going to a garage and saying “I messed with something in my car” and not be able to tell the mechanic which thing you messed with.

Forgive my ignorance, but I’m not sure that has to with the problems I’m having now. They are the SAME problems I had before I “clicked on the wrong file.
