    I have WP 2.5.

My comments aren’t showing up on individual posts. They are being logged, I can see them in the comments widget, I can view them in my admin panel and they are in my database.

Yet, when I click on the post or even the comment link (i.e. “/…comment#65”) it goes to post and no comment.

    Example: http://www.stevemullis.net/2008/04/16/online-feature-round-up-virginia-tech-edition/#comment-65

This post has a comment, I can see it in admin and it is approved.

    What gives?

    Thanks in advance.

try changing your template back to the original default template and seeing if they show up then. If they do – then you know you have a problem with your template. I’d then check the page.php, single.php, comments.php, index.php and style.css for any abnormalities.

I did that, and the comment showed up.

So it’s something I did in the template, only I don’t know what.

I tried re-loading several .php files (single.php, comments.php) and still nothing.

    Further investigation required.

    Thanks, however.

    After further investigation.

Re-downloaded and re-installed ‘breaking-news’ theme. Still, no comments. So the problem is not with the theme or any CSS changes.

Are there any plug-ins known to cause this problem?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

I am having this same problem. http://blogs.library.msstate.edu/web2summit/?p=30

In my case, the original code <?php comment_template(); ?> was breaking my page, making the right sidebar and footer disappear. When I changed it to <?php include ('comment_template.php'); ?>, the sidebar and footer came back, but comments are still gone. I deactivated and reactivated plugins, to no avail.

This all worked yesterday. Does anyone know what’s happening?

This is a long shot but sometimes we overlook the obvious. Is it possible you have your comments held for moderation? If so they won’t show until you ok them.

    Re: Poe

Thanks, but sadly it’s not that simple. There is something in the ‘breaking-news’ template that is keeping the comments from coming in, however it is NOT the comments.php file.

I’ve uploaded other themes, comments are there. Re-loaded the original, unedited breaking-news theme, no comments. The odd thing is that they were there when I first started using this theme.

I’m thinking the combo of perhaps a plug-in AND the theme is conflicting.

Again, thanks, but it’s something else.
