Am I missing something–I thought post’s author did receive notice of a comment.

How can I get “comment notification” sent to the author of a post?
Or how can I get the notification sent to more than one administrator?
But the best thing would be if the author of a post could be notified of a new comment. Is there something in the setup I am missing? Or is there a plugin that will help resolve this? Thanks.
