   All of the sudden my comment fields are missing from my pages, but not my individual posts. I tried disabling each plugin to see if it was one of them, but to no avail.

   I am also having trouble with my permalinks. I tried to change the the format under the Settings tab but it made all of my posts and pages unreachable with an error message.

   Can anyone help?

   some info: linux, wordpress 2.7.1, and I'm not an experienced techie so please be descriptive! :)

   You need to add this to your theme's page.php file after The Loop to allow comments.

   <?php comments_template(); ?>

   There is no page.php. Is that the same as index.php?
