[resolved] Comment editing adds html tags (4 posts)

I remember how WP v2.0.5 changed apostrophes to slashes, and that was fixed in the next version. Now, I'm using v2.2.1 and I'm encountering another problem with comment editing.

I hope someone can try this with their setup to see if it isn't just me. What happens is that when a comment is edited three times, html tags begin to appear. The more times it is edited after that third time, the more tags will appear.

For instance, editing a one-paragraph comment three different times produces the <p> and </p> tags around it on the displayed comment, not in the editor but on the actual display page. Comments with more than one paragraph and/or have formatting produce even more unwanted tags.

Is this just me, or are others having this problem, too?

Yes, this is happening to me too. A solution was proposed here, but it didn't work for me. A fix for this would be nice..

Has anyone checked to see if it is logged in http://trac.wordpress.org/

    Answering my own question: http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4403

It's alleged to be fixed. Either we wait for next version or follow the links to the fix. :-)
