Essentially, the comment count that is displayed for posts on navigating to wp-admin/edit-comments.php is wrong. Regardless of whether looking at spam, the moderation queue, or all comments, every post is displayed as having the same figure, which is equal to the total number of comments on all posts.
Can anyone point me in a direction to check for the source of this problem? I’ve made no changes to the base WordPress files, and whilst I previously used Google Gears, that’s now disabled. Also I don’t have any particularly rare plugins installed (comment related ones limited to Get Recent Comments) and the issue remained with all plugins deactivated.
Resolved in so far as the problem isn’t there any more. Can’t figure out what exactly caused the issue, nor what solved it, so apologies to anyone who reads this thread looking for answers!
