• Dear fellow WordPress users,

I’d really appriciate any help with this one.

I was using wordpress.org but lost the use of the domain name. I now have access to the back end of the blog via the host giving it a temporary url address.

In the meantime, I had set up a free wordpress.com blog with one of the free templates, which I love the look of.

Is there a way I can import my posts from the free wordpress.com into my wordpress.org (which has more capabilities with regards to the plugins etc) but keep the template of my free wordpress.com blog?

Basically, I love what I’ve created with my free blog and want to merge that with the more extensive back end of my old blog.

Hope this makes sense and thank you for reading:)

  • You can definitely import your .com to your .org blog, but unless the them on .com can be downloaded to upload to your .org blog, there would be no other way.

Yes. You can export the posts from .com and import them to .org.

The THEMES on WordPress.com are generally freely available too, but it depends which one you were using.
