[resolved] Columns don't respond right upon swiping left on mobile (12 posts)

    Hello,

    Love the plugin by the way, and have never really had any issues at all with it until now, but I'm sure it can be resolved fast, or I just missed a mobile enhancement/code.

    On mobile, iphone to be exact, if you swipe left (to view columns to the right), the top row doesn't respond like the rows below. Meaning, the top row only slides over like 4-5 columns and then stops, but the data below swipes over properly. So, the user sees the top row (the titles of each column) not matching up with the data below that top row (if that makes sense).

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    I'm not completely sure, but this seems to be related to the "Horizontal Scrolling", and should be fixed by simply unchecking that checkbox on the table's "Edit" screen.

    Hey Tobias,

    I just unchecked it, but that did not work. Can you confirm, or do you not have an iphone? It may be doing the same thing on all mobile devices, I just only have an iphone in front of me.

    Any other suggestions?

    Hi,

    from what I can see "Horizontal Scrolling" is still activated.
    Or do you maybe have the command

    "sScrollX":"100%"

    in the "Custom Commands" textfield? If so, please remove that.

    No, i don't have that in the css. This is what's in there:

    "aaSorting": [[12,'desc']], "aoColumnDefs": [ { "bSearchable": false, "aTargets": [ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 ] } ]

    Hi,

    ok, then the "Horizontal Scrolling" checkbox is still checked for http://draftcalc.com/fantasy-football-content/weekly-projections/
    Or are you maybe setting it in the Shortcode?

    And, I have unchecked the horizontal scrolling.

    And the items checked are in order of the options:

    Yes, No, Yes, Yes, No, No... blank field
    Yes, Yes, yes, No, No, Yes, No Then in the field I have:

    Ok, for some reason that didn't stick the first time, but I just checked/unchecked horizontal scrolling and saved. Now it is NOT horizontal scrolling.

    But, now we have a new problem, i can't see anything on the table to the right.

    Hi,

    ah, yes. Now the "Horizontal Scrolling" is turned off :-)

    For the new problem, you have two options now:

    A.) Re-add a different kind of horizontal scrolling, by adding this to the "Custom CSS":

    .dataTables_wrapper {
      overflow-x: scroll;
      overflow-y: hidden;
    }

    B.) Use the Responsive Tables Extension from http://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/ that will basically flip your table to the side on small screens.
