    Hi Tobias,

Firstly may I commend you on such a great plugin!!!

I am using the columnfilterwidget extension with tablepress, and I am curious to know if it is possible to filter a table with columns that are hidden.

For example i want to hide columns that are of no use to the end user, however use the hidden data such as that in the location column to sort the visible data in the table.

    Is this possible at all?

    Many Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    thanks for your post.

To be honest: I don't know. Both the DataTables JavaScript library and the ColumnFilterWidgets JavaScript code were not developed by me. I only added them to TablePress. I'm not that much into the details that I know all of their features. From what I can see on the ColumnFilterWidgets page at http://www.datatables.net/extras/thirdparty/ColumnFilterWidgets/DataTables/extras/ColumnFilterWidgets/ this doesn't seem to be possible. It appears that drop down lists are only created for visible columns.

    Regards,
    Tobias
