[resolved] column sorting & search box (8 posts)

    Just installed your plugin and imported a CSV table.

    When I put the table on a page, it seems to be missing a couple elements:

    1) the sorting icons/functionality for the columns aren't there
    2) the search box is missing
    3) there is no pagination, meaning my entire table is listed there.
    4) i see the have a 'edit' link at the bottom left of my table...

    My WP Theme is ECOBIZ, 1.5, and i am running version 3.4.2 of WP.

    I do have the following options checked:
    Enable sorting of the table by the visitor.
    Enable the visitor to filter or search the table.
    Enable pagination of the table (viewing only a certain number of rows at a time)
    Allow the visitor to change the number of rows shown when using pagination.
    Enable the table information display, with information about the currently visible data, like the number of rows.

    The table I'm working on is

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    The reason for the first three problems is another plugin that you have installed. The plugin "wpaudio-mp3-player" contains a bug in its JavaScript code, and that stops the browser from executing the JS for the features that are not working for you.
    You will either have to deactivate that plugin or check if there's an update available.

    Regaring the "Edit" link: Yes, that link is shown to all users that are logged-in to WordPress and that are allowed to edit this table. Regular site visitors will not see this link, which you can verify by viewing your site after logging-out of WordPress.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Tobias -- Thanks so much! Updating my other plug in corrected the problem.

    I did have one other question. I'm very new to writing CSS code, and a couple of formatting issues are eluding me.

    1) i seem to have lost the vertical border line along the far left hand side of the table. All other border lines are working fine.

    2) My table header font looks bold, or a bit blurry, as if it has a shadow. Is that changeable?

    Here's my admittedly amateur CSS Code, so far: (Don't laugh)

    .tablepress-id-2 thead th
    {
    background-color: #DDD9DE;
    font-size: 14px;
    color: #000000;
    text-align: center;
    vertical-align: bottom;
    border: 1px solid #615555
    }
    .tablepress-id-2 td
    {
    border: 1px solid #615555;
    text-align: center;
    }

    Hi,

    great to hear that the update fixed the issues :-)

    About the CSS: Don't worry, it looks very good already!

    1) The border on the left has disappeared because your theme has own CSS code to actually remove the vertical border on the first column. To override that, just change the last part of your CSS code to

    .tablepress-id-2 tr td {
      border: 1px solid #615555;
      text-align: center;
    }

    (notice the new tr in the first line).

    2) Yes, your header cells have a text shadow applied to them, which is coming from your theme's CSS as well. To remove that, just add

    text-shadow: none;

    to the CSS for the head cells (your first big block of CSS).
    Additionally, to prevent issues in the future, please add a semicolon (;) after border: 1px solid #615555, as that's currently missing.

    Regards,
    Tobias
