   wondered if anyone knew a way to force a colour overlay on rollover images?

   thought using CSS to lower opacity and drop in background colouring might sort it but not having any luck.

   perhaps a way to overlay with javascript?

   but not sure where to apply the javascript event mentioned at the bottom?
