    Hi everyone

I’m relatively new to wordpress so please excuse if my problems are minor ones. Basically I’m having trouble with two things:

Problem 1: I got a menu with 7 pages, one of them is a photography page that has 3 categories as dropdown. Now, I want it to be like this: When you hover over the “Foto” page, the dropdown menu should contain the three categories, from which you can chose one. It shouldn’t be possible to click on the “Foto” page in the menu itself and get somewhere. But at the moment that still happens and it directs me to a blank page where there’s one word: the page title “Foto”.

Problem 2: I’m using NEXTGen Gallery, which works fine basically. But under the category section, where you can chose between the different galleries, it reads [nggallery right beneath the title of each gallery. How can I make that disappear?

    Thanks for the help

    C.

To fix the “Foto” menu item, go to Appearsnce/ Menus.
In the left column you see an option called custom links. Type # in the URL area, then the name you want on the menu item – Foto – in the label area and add that to your menu.
Move it to where you want it in your menu, move the sub category items to underneath it and remove the Foto page link item that you already had.

The NextGen Gallery -looks like maybe the short code isn’t closed. Add a second bracket in the page editor so it looks like [nggallery]
I’m not sure if that’s the fix for it, but it’s worth a try.

Thanks RebeckaH, the Foto problem is gone, not the gallery one though..

There’s no missing bracket, as in the post itself it reads [nggallery id=1], which is put there automatically when you insert a gallery through the NextGen plugin. It only reads [nggallery above the posts on the actual site, even though all tags are closed, so that’s the weird part.
